Guam - Fire Chief Dave Peredo is sending staffers who work at the headquarters in Hagatna out in the field, saying such a strategy will help with the shortage of manpower at the Guam Fire Department.

"The schedule, like what we have right now, we have uniform staff - they come into office from 8-5 and they report out to the fire stations to augment the shortage of personnel we have out there in the fire station to complete that 24 hours [sic]," he explained.

What this means is that staff at headquarters will be paid overtime - and paid the full 120 hours - like the firefighters who work at the fire stations on 24-hour shifts.
