Guam - The Guam Department of Education made a startling announcement Thursday afternoon: that summer classes will not be held at the end of the 2009-2010 school year in a couple of months. DOE stated a lack of funding is the reason classes cannot be held this summer.

The agency continues to have financial issues, despite getting substantial federal funding via president Barack Obama's stimulus program.
