Guam - The Guam Academy of Charter Schools Council already has work ahead of them as the National Institute for Direct Instruction has submitted an application to establish the island's first charter school. NIFDI On Site-Coordinator Donna Dwiggins submitted the application in early March.

NIFDI's Guam charter would include Kindergarten through 6th grade in the first year of operation, and a 9th grade literacy academy. The school would expand by one grade per year through 10th grade in the first five years of charter approval, expanding from 360 students next school year to a little over 1,000 students in 2014-2015.
