Guam - The U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy are searching for a vessel in distress that made a mayday broadcast on the VHF-FM marine band Saturday night at around 10:15pm. A male individual made the broadcast call, which is the international declaration of distress.

The U.S. Coast Guard vessel from Station Apra Harbor and U.S. Navy helicopter from the HSC-25 unit began searching off Guam's western coast last night and are continuing efforts today.

The Coast Guard is asking the public to notify them if they have any information about the case.
