Thousands turn out for Kites for Wishes
Guam - The Make A Wish Foundation, Take Care Asia-Pacific along with other businesses hosted the "Kites for Wishes" event at the Asan Memorial Beach Park. While teams from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and Australia participated in the annual event, hundreds of island residents showed up with their families to support the cause and to spend time with each other.
Dededo resident Anthony Deliguin demonstrated to his daughter how to fly her kite, saying he was there, "Just to show her and just to get her involved to fly the kites."
Dededo resident Michael Kirkman said the weather was just perfect to fly a kite. He says it's a great day not only to spend with family, but to support a great cause. "I think it's a good cause and we bought the kites and the food and we'll donate our proceeds and I think it's great. I think it should happen every weekend for some cause. I'd rather give my money for a good cause and have a good time with my family."
