Guam - The Government Accountability Office released a report on the U.S. insular areas and opportunities that exist to improve the Department of the Interior's grant oversight and to reduce the potential for mismanagement. The GAO report reviewed the U.S. insular areas of American Samoa, CNMI, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam and how they've been spending and managing OIA grant funding.

According to the report out of the four areas Guam ranked the highest in its abilities to exercise prudent financial management practices and to meet federal grant requirements.
