Guam - The village of Talofofo is gearing up for its upcoming Banana Festival scheduled for next month. Talofofo Mayor Vicente Taitague says he decided to introduce the festival to the island for both local and visitors alike to experience the hospitality of the people from God's Country. It's an opportunity for people to showcase their bananas, cake recipes and local dishes.

"Talofofo is a great village because we have a tight-knit family. As a matter of fact, most of the people in the village are the original people, maybe one percent is from outside the village but mostly the people who grew up here are still here from the beginning. That's why it's unique. Also, it's a nice place. It's up in the hills," said the mayor.

The Banana Festival is scheduled from April 23-25. If you want to take part in the festivities, you can call the Talofofo Mayor's Office at 789-1421.
