Guam - Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense are advising island residents to avoid all beaches and low lying areas as  a result of a widespread Tsunami Warning issued for Guam and the surrounding area. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued the Tsunami Warning for the island after an 8.8 earthquake struck the coast of Chile earlier today.

The estimated time of arrival of the tsunami for Guam to occur is at around one o'clock Sunday afternoon. Along with the National Weather Service, Homeland Security and Civil Defense are monitoring the situation and will provide additional instructions as necessary.
