Guam - Vice-Speaker B.J. Cruz was vocal about his disdain for Bill 208 on session floor Monday and today he's making sure the Attorney General's Office is aware of his concerns regarding the measure, along with Bill 211. The vice-speaker contends both bills would sanction prior actions of the Public Auditor when she illegally hired two employees above Step 10 of the GovGuam Compensation Schedule after Cruz introduced an amendment that would hold the OPA personally liable for the overpayments to these employees.
Co-author of Bill 208, Senator Adolpho Palacios moved that the legislation be referred back to committee.
