DOE will make power bill payment
The lights won't be going off at the Department of Education this week.
Guam - The lights won't be going off at the Department of Education this week. DOE will be making the $1.2 million payment to prevent threatened disconnections. Deputy Superintendent of Finance and Administrative Services Taling Taitano says she has received assurances from the Department of Administration that enough money will be released by noon tomorrow to avert power from being shut off.
Taitano says she's working on paperwork to submit to USDOE to ensure they get reimbursements after DOE used local funds to cover payroll and operations.
