Funeral held for Judge Cristobal Duenas
The island's first Chamorro federal judge, the Honorable Cristobal Duenas, was laid to rest today. Funeral services were held at the Cathedral in Hagatna this morning.
Guam - The island's first Chamorro federal judge, the Honorable Cristobal Duenas, was laid to rest today. Funeral services were held at the Cathedral in Hagatna this morning. Former president Richard Nixon appointed Duenas to the federal bench in 1969.
He was also the judge who presided over the 1987 corruption trial of former governor Ricky Bordallo. Duenas spent more than two decades on the federal bench. He was 89 years old.
