Guam - Eight Department of Corrections officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with contraband recently being discovered at the Mangilao Detention Facility.  DepCor Director J.B. Palacios says one officer is still under investigation as the agency attempts to determine if there was a lapse in protocol and procedures.

During a recent shakedown, officers found cell phones and a wireless internet card in the possession of maximum security inmate Bruno Simmons, who was able to gain internet access.  A similar investigation is underway at the Hagatna Facility, where cell phone chargers, an iPod, and other items were also located.
