Guam - It looks like former Department of Mental Health director and former senator Dr. David Shimizu might be throwing his hat into the ring in the upcoming special election. According to staff at the Guam Election Commission, Shimizu picked-up a candidate packet late Wednesday afternoon.
Shimizu came up number 16 during the Decision 2008 General Election, falling short of grabbing a seat in the 30th Guam Legislature. The deadline to file for candidacy is February 18, with the special election scheduled for March 20.
