Guam - The Department of Education is hoping to get $26 million in supplemental funding for this fiscal year. Finance and Administrative Services Deputy Superintendent Taling Taitano says a work session was held with Guam Education Policy Board members on Monday.
Taitano adds doe needs that money to stay afloat for the remainder of the fiscal year specifically for operation, retirement contributions, a promissory note with the Guam Power Authority and prior obligations for vendors. Officials are hoping the board will entertain the request during next week Wednesday's meeting.
