Guam - The Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency has six new dogs that are getting acclimated to the island weather.  Customs Officer Joseph Cruz says the agency received six new canines from Alabama.

Today the dogs and their handlers headed to the beaches in Tumon for exercise and some training.  Officer Cruz says this is nothing out of the norm, as exercise and training on the beach occurs once a month.

"It's just to relieve stress," he said.  "[This is the] first time they've been in the water, this is the first time we brought them to the beach. Another thing its also good for their coat, it brings a lot of the ticks a fleas whatever they might have up to the top, so after we're down here, take them back to the unit and shower the dogs, its more easier to identify any problems they might have with their coat."
