Guam - The Guam International Airport Authority and airport firefighters may be close to reaching a compromise over cut overtime hours. Both parties met before the Civil Service Commission Thursday afternoon to ask for a 30-day extension to reach a settlement. If they reach an agreement within that time frame they'll present the terms for final CSC approval on February 9.
If a settlement can't be reached a merit hearing will be held on March 18. 29 airport firefighters filed a formal grievance, as they received a nearly 25% pay cut as a result of austerity measures that were implemented last May.
