Cruz expects to review same-sex bill report

Guam - Vice-Speaker B.J. Cruz is back on island and says he expects to see a copy of the final committee report on Bill 185 on his desk any day now. The controversial measure would allow same-sex partners to enter into a civil union. The vice-speaker says he does not intend to make any more changes to the bill before he gets a copy of the report.
"Now that I'm back," Cruz said, "the chairman will issue like all other reports, it will go out and we will sign off on whether or not we support it, whether or not we want it to pass, report it to the floor or are opposed to it so I guess I'll be able to see how my colleagues feel about the bill."
Cruz says bill 185 needs the support of eight lawmakers to be pushed onto the session agenda.
