Guam - A structure fire forced a family to evacuate their home early this morning along Carol St. in Dededo. Guam Fire Department Spokesperson Joey San Nicolas says emergency units responded to the semi concrete structure to extinguish the fire. He says the blaze was confined to a rear extension of the home damaging about 30% of the structure.

San Nicolas adds that a 66-year-old woman living in the home received minor injuries while she attempted to put out the fire before officials arrived. The woman was treated and released on scene.

No other injuries have been reported and the cause fire remains under investigation.
