Guam - Fifteen recruits became officers Thursday at the ninth Customs Recruit Cycle graduation.  As Guam prepares for the military buildup, more and more cargo will come through the ports controlled by the Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency and the new additions will no doubt be an asset to the force.

Director Dennis Santo Tomas said, "It's very important that we get more officers whether its customs officers, police officers, firefighters because there is a need on this island for greater capacity, greater capability in being able to respond to the needs of the community."
