Guam - The annual District Court Conference is being held today at the Sheraton Laguna Resort. More than 150 lawyers and judges are attending the event that will include discussions on topics such as complaints and concerns about members of the bar and bench, forensic evidence and the impending federalization of immigration in the CNMI.

This year's keynote speaker is Distinguished Professor of Law Erwin Chemerinsky, the founding dean of the University of California at Irvine's School of Law.  He is touted as one of the nation's most eminent constitutional scholars.  Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood says the federal court is pleased to have such distinguished guests and scholars presenting the latest in legal education to members of the bench and bar.
