Guam - There's good news for the villages of Agat and Santa Rita, as Department of Interior Assistant Secretary for Insular Affairs Tony Babauta, signed off on a $250,000 grant to flood proof the Chaligan Sewage Pump Station.  Babauta, who is from Agat, signed the water and waste program grant that is crucial in the treatment of wastewater for the two southern villages.

Babauta says the improvements would address concerns raised by FEMA and once completed, will result in removal from the federal agency's probation status that currently bars the island from FEMA pre-disaster assistance.
