Guam - The Department of Labor's Workforce Investment Summit concluded today, focusing on the increase of jobs anticipated with the impending military buildup.  U.S. Department of Labor Regional Administrator for the Wage & Hour Division out of San Francisco George Friday says with the large number of contractors coming to the island, he anticipates a need for more off-island labor staff to provide more education and outreach to the community.

"We plan to set up an education seminar sometime after the first of the year. I would hope that we get a response from the contractor organization and from the employee organizations to attend the seminars to talk to us with what their concerns are as it relates to responsibilities of the contractors and also what the rates of employees are," said George.
