Assistant Secretary for Communications and Outreach at the U.S. Department of Education Peter Cunningham is expected to arrive on island tonight.

Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Bretania Underwood says he will be visiting six public schools, as well as the Guam Community College, the University of Guam as well as another school on base.

She says she would like to hear more about President Obama's initiatives and other things.

Bretania Underwood stated, "We're going to be talking about the federally funded programs — the successes we have as well as the challenges. Of course I'm going to make a pitch for the need for us to have our ARRA funds and the stimulus funds."

Cunningham will also meet with the Guam Education Policy Board, Speaker Judi Won Pat and even Governor Felix Camacho. He's expected to leave on Friday.
