Defense act set funding for National Guard
The National Defense Authorization Act appropriated 30 million dollars for the Guam Army National Guard Readiness Center. <br /><br />Major General Donald Goldhorn says the Barrigada facility will see major changes in the coming year that will benefit not only active soldiers and airmen, but retirees as well.

Major General Donald Goldhorn says the Barrigada facility will see major changes in the coming year that will benefit not only active soldiers and airmen, but retirees as well.
Major General Goldhorn says the construction projects will allow for Guam's troops to be better prepared for future deployments.
Goldhorn explains, "Next year we will be constructing a readiness center for the grow the army piece of the Guam Army National Guard and that will include facilities for one of our infantry companies as well as some other units that we are adding on to the fore structure and in 2011 we are looking at a major maintenance facility that will be constructed here."
