Southern High Principal Jim Reyes is currently placed at the Department of Education Central Office in Hagatna while an internal investigation is being conducted. Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Bretania Underwood says while she cannot comment on the issue because it deals with personnel, she says the agency is currently looking into whether Reyes in fact took proper steps to ensure the safety of students in light of incidents of violence on campus.

That investigation remains ongoing.
