From the gridiron, the Southern Cowboys escaped with the 20-7 win over the Guam Youth Football League Giants in the Mitey Mites Division semifinals, boosting them to next week's title game.  Rashad Jacobs got things going for the Cowboys in the 2nd quarter, as he smashed his way in for a 5-yard touchdown, giving his team the 6-0 lead.

In the 3rd quarter, defense played a huge role for both teams, as neither squad was able to penetrate the end zone. But the Giants lived up to their namesake at the start of the 4th, as Jason Sablan ran in for the tying touchdown along with the extra point conversion, giving his squad the 7-6 lead.

The Cowboys answered back on their next two offensive drives, as they scored twin late 4th quarter touchdowns, eventually giving them the 20-7 win.
