The Guam Police Department is investigating a car crash that occurred at the Governor's Complex at Adelup that sent two people to the hospital Thursday afternoon.  GPD Spokesman Officer Allan Guzman says the driver of the pickup truck was heading northbound on Route 6 when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the roadway some 50 feet onto the Adelup field.

Guzman says the crash resulted in the victim's vehicle turning over. Authorities had to use the Jaws of Life to extract the two, who have only been identified as a man and a woman.

As of 7 Thursday night, nursing supervisors at the Guam Memorial Hospital said the male victim was in stable condition and was undergoing observation in the emergency room. The female, who is 45, was transported to Naval Hospital in nearby Agana Heights and was being evaluated for severe injuries.

As of Monday morning, the woman is reportedly in stable condition.

Police are looking into both speed and alcohol as being possible factors in the accident.
