If you're constantly on the go but need 24/7 access to the Internet, fear not, there is a solution for you. portable, convenient, affordable, and stylish, netbooks are taking 2009 by storm. A netbook is a tiny laptop weighing 2 to 3 pounds, designed primarily for surfing the web. They contain all the same features as a regular desktop or laptop except they don't have a CD-ROM or DVD drive, making them ultra lightweight.
Uttam's operations manager Ken San Agustin said, "One of the bigger differences with using a netbook versus than a standard laptop is the fact that a netbook is a little bit more portable, it's a lot smaller a lot easier to take around if you're traveling you don't need a separate laptop bag it can usually fit into your pouch into your luggage into your hand carry bag so ease and portability is really where its at with this and its really designed for the person on the go."
Netbooks usually run a Windows XP or rhe Linux operating system, and despite their size, feature a powerful Intel Atom processor. San Agustin says the demographic for netbooks at Uttam's varies from middle school students to business professionals. If you're not sure which netbook is right for you, San Agustin says it all boils down to personal preference.
"When you're in the market for a netbook just consider price, features will mostly be the same, don't let anyone fool you, the Intel Atom processor is a powerful processor, a lot of people are concerned why the new laptops running Windows Vista and these are running XP. It's only because the processor isn't big enough to run the Vista software yet, but they're improving on the newer netbooks. Hopefully, they can install the Vista software or the new Windows 7," he said.
