In its first week Wii Fit sold over a quarter of a million copies and as of the end of March this year sales have totaled a whopping $18.22 million worldwide making it number five on the all time list of unbundled games.

Developed by Nintendo specifically for the Wii console, it is an exercise game which uses a balance board and a Wii remote to give you the work out you desire. Training on the Wii Fit is divvied up by your personal trainer of choice into four categories: strength training, aerobics, balance games, and yoga providing users with a core workout that emphasizes controlled movements rather than overexertion to the point of exhaustion.

The Wii balance board acts as a sensor to determine not only weight, but also how well the exercise is being executed, in addition to calculating body mass index after one simply inputs their height. Once you input the required fields the software will determine your "Wii Fit age" through a series of body tests. But do not be discouraged by this age label, it is simply telling you just how fit you really are and the coolest aspect is that the more you progress in the game, your Wii Fit age actually grows younger and younger.

Sean Tedtaotao, Paradise Fitness attendant says, "I think the Wii Fit is really good. It gets you to move around a lot, it gets you really active, and it's better than other video games in the sense that you get to burn more calories when you're playing."

The game has about fifty different activities such as various yoga poses, soccer heading, hula hooping, and ski jumping. But do these activities guarantee you instant rock hard abs and buns of steel?

Tedtaotao explains that staying in shape is a two part formula, saying, "Well I'd say its a good start, but its not like the whole picture because with exercise you need to start dieting. It's a two part picture, its exercise and diet. It's a good start it gets you a little more active than if you were sitting at home button mashing on some other video games, but you would also have to incorporate a little bit more resistance training with actual weights and stuff or a little more cardio where you actually go out there and run around some places or do something to that effect."

Wii Fit was created with the mission of being a less daunting, enjoyable work out environment which once you take the challenge, you will definitely see the results.

Tedtaotao concludes, "I'd tell people to keep on with it. It's a lot better than the Xbox and all that other stuff but don't just stop there, if you get started you need to go the whole nine yards, get in there, do the resistance training, do the cardio, we also have some stuff over here that can help you guys out, we have trainers if you guys don't really know what you're doing, we can show you around, and our staff can help you out."
