The Pacific Center for Economic Initiatives under the University of Guam is currently taking confidential surveys that measures an individual's experience as a consumer with the Guam economy and also the regional and global economies in the past year. UOG associate professor of economics and finance Dr. Maria Claret Ruane told KUAM News, "This is done in the mainland on a monthly basis and sometime in the future, I'd like to get closer to that but for now, every six months, that'll capture some important stuff and maybe later on, we can do this quarterly."
The results of the survey will be compared to those conducted six months ago to produce the first ever analysis of the change in Guam consumer confidence or sentiment.
