Legislature to honor first Chamorro rear admiral

The Guam Legislature will honor the first Chamorro to achieve the rank of rear admiral in the US Navy. Peter Gumataotao, the Naval Surface Forces chief of staff, hails from Agana Heights and will be presented with a resolution with his family sponsored by Senator Frank Aguon, Jr., himself an officer in the military.

Gumataotao has served his country over 25 years with 11 deployments. His next assignment is as prospective commander of Naval Forces Korea.
