Hundreds of Government of Guam employees gathered today at Ypao Beach in Tumon to celebrate Labor Day. The annual holiday is celebrated throughout the nation to recognize social and economic achievements of American workers. All the government agencies participated in a whole array of family activities.

Department of Public Health director J. Peter Roberto told KUAM News, "This is very important. It's for the employees. Every year, the government comes out. Public Health is here. We're celebrating the hard work that the staff at DPHSS has done. So it really is for them enjoying the hard work we do every year."

Labor Day is tomorrow and is a GovGuam holiday.
