Lamorena: Relocation of Marines still on schedule
While there's been speculation out of Japan that the recent elections there could result in potential changes and even delays in the agreement to move 8,000 marines from Okinawa to Guam, Civilian-Military Task Force member Tony Lamorena says things are moving forward and there are no plans to renegotiate. "The Obama Administration, I believe in an earlier story, said that they will not re-negotiate the agreement. So we are moving forward as if everything is gonna happen and then we will make the adjustments just in case something else does come about ," he said.
"Our contacts here with the JGPO office, we have talked to them and they have stated they are proceeding as normal until they hear otherwise from their bosses," Lamorena explained.
