The Guam Department of Education has secured $54 million in American Rescue Plan funding reimbursements. The funds were approved by the US Department of Education after GDOE provided evidence supporting its seven-point plan to address learning loss.

GDOE superintendent Dr. Kenneth Swanson said, “This milestone was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the deputy of curriculum and instruction, Joe Sanchez, whose team developed and implemented the 7-point plan, as well as the school administrators, teachers, and instructional staff who embraced the plan and made sure it was implemented in our schools and classrooms.”

GDOE says it has also developed a spending plan to direct the funds toward the department’s most immediate needs.
