Agueda Johnston Middle School lockdown triggered by off-campus firearm discovery
The Guam Police Department says Central Precinct officers responded Tuesday around 1:34pm to a report that a 13-year-old male student at Agueda Johnston Middle School allegedly said he would bring a B.B. gun to campus Wednesday.
No gun was found, and the student, along with two other minors, were suspended and picked up by their parents.
Separately, around 7:28am today, police responded to an unrelated incident in Mangilao where an AJMS student found a firearm with ammunition inside a box near a bus stop. The firearm is believed to be connected to a recent burglary in Mangilao.
GPD's Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the case, which remains under investigation.
Following the report of the firearm found near the bus stop, the AJMS principal ordered an administrative search of the campus and placed the school on lockdown around 10am. The lockdown has since been lifted, and no firearm was found on campus.
