Local talent shines at Neni Christmas Market
Holiday shopping got a festive boost this weekend as kid entrepreneurs filled the Micronesia Mall with their one-of-a-kind creations and growing businesses. From handmade trinkets to stunning original paintings, the Neni Christmas Market at the Micronesia Mall transformed into a holiday showcase—filled with one-of-a-kind gifts perfect for stockings or ready to be wrapped with a festive bow.
But the most striking part? The creators behind the tables weren’t your typical merchants. They were kid entrepreneurs—young, driven, and brimming with talent.
Among them was 11-year-old Nolan Muna, the artist and business owner behind Koko Creations, already making impressive business moves before even reaching his teen years. “My original idea for my business was to make little packages for kids to make, like DIY with instructions, but we ran out of time, so we ended up making art prints from my art," he explained.
Muna has been sharpening his artistic skills since he was just 7 years old—a passion he, like his fellow “Nentrepreneurs,” is now learning to grow into a full-fledged business. He shared, “It was good for me because people are looking at my artwork and buying it, and it's like a souvenir from me.”
“It does encourage me to make more artwork because it’s almost the 1st year anniversary of my business.”
The event also featured live entertainment from local youth, hands-on weaving workshops led by master weaver Thomas Torres and Alyssa Posadas, talaya-throwing demos, and a special reading of “The Great Peskadot” by local author Cabrini Cruz Palomo.
