Guam Memorial Hospital honors nursing excellence at first-ever DAISY award ceremony

The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority held its inaugural DAISY Award Ceremony today, recognizing 33 outstanding nurses for their compassion, dedication, and impact on patient care. The event also marked a milestone as ICU nurse Danica Dianzon was honored as GMHA’s very first DAISY Award recipient.
Hospital leaders praised the nominees for their resilience and heart, emphasizing that the daily acts of care, often unseen, make the greatest difference in the lives of patients and families.
Dianzon, a 2024 UOG graduate who joined the ICU team last year, expressed gratitude to her colleagues for their mentorship and support.
The DAISY Award program celebrates nurses across the hospital, from the ICU and Progressive Care to Labor & Delivery and the NICU, highlighting the vital role they play in uplifting healthcare on the island.
GMHA says this ceremony is only the beginning of many more opportunities to honor the nurses who form the backbone of its mission.
