$4.2M investment puts more patrol cars and drones on GPD’s front line

The Guam Police Department is putting millions of dollars of new muscle on the road. At the Ricardo J. Bordallo Governor’s Complex on Friday, GPD rolled out its new patrol fleet and critical gear — a $4.2 million investment in public safety.
The lineup includes 47 Dodge Durango Police Pursuit 4x4s, four Dodge Ram Pro Master vans, a Kia minivan, and two Ford Rangers — all funded through a mix of American Rescue Plan Act dollars, Federal Highway Safety and TAP grants, school safety funds, and local money.
GPD also added five drones, a speed detector with photo and video technology, a public address system, new command post supplies, and 100 first-aid nylon pouches to support officers in the field.
Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio and Chief of Police Stephen Ignacio said the upgrades modernize tactics, boost officer safety, and help keep families safe as officers patrol our streets 24/7.
