It would be 2026 before the seven defendants accused in Guam’s high-profile Pandemic Unemployment Assistance fraud case return to federal court.

District Court Magistrate Judge Michael Bordallo proposed trial dates of either June 23 or September 9, giving defense attorneys more time to review nearly a million pages of evidence. The case involves alleged fraudulent action for almost half-a million in PUA claims filed between 2020 and 2021—and includes three relatives of Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio, who is not charged.

Only two defendants appeared at Friday’s status hearing as attorneys cited ongoing issues accessing files and sifting through the massive discovery. Judge Bordallo said the case “hasn’t moved an inch,” ordering attorneys to return in January with specific updates and motions as the court works to set a firm trial date.
