Guam Police Department is saving lives, one jacket at a time with new life jacket program

The Guam Police Department has officially launched its Life Jacket Loaner Station Program at the Hågat Marina, giving everyone free access to life-saving equipment while enjoying Guam’s waters.
With two stations now open in Hågat Marina and Hagåtña Boat Basin, the initiative aims to install 20 stations across the island by the end of 2026, including popular spots like Ypao Beach, Malesso’ Pier, and Talo’fo’fo Bay.
The program runs on an honor system: borrow a jacket, stay safe, and return it for the next user.
Supported through federal grants and community partnerships, it’s a shared effort to prevent drownings and promote water safety for all.
