Pacific Association for Radiation Survivors General Membership meeting set for October 25

The Pacific Association for Radiation Survivors will host its Annual General Membership Meeting on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tamuning Senior Citizens Center. The event is open to the public.
PARS advocates for the inclusion of Guam in the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, which provides partial restitution to individuals, known as Downwinders, who were exposed to nuclear fallout.
In July 2025, Congress passed legislation granting $100,000 in compensation to eligible individuals. The National Academies of Sciences has recommended that Guam be included in RECA as a Downwinder area.
PARS continues to work closely with Congressman James Moylan, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, and members of the Guam Legislature, including Senator Therese Terlaje, a long-time advocate for this cause.
“As we continue our pursuit of justice and redress through Congress, we invite the community to join us this Saturday,” said PARS President Celestial. “Together, we can move forward in advocating for the recognition and compensation our people deserve.”
On-site registration for both members and non-members will be available at the Tamuning Senior Citizens Center.
