The Guam Police Department has arrested 20-year-old Noah-Jay Austin Blas of Agana Heights in connection with a video voyeurism case that occurred at a Tumon hotel earlier this month.  According to police, on October 6, a Korean tourist reported that a hotel employee was taking photos of him and his 5-year-old daughter inside a men’s restroom stall.

Officers from the Tumon-Tamuning Precinct Command responded and interviewed Blas, whose phone initially showed no relevant images. The case was later referred to GPD’s Special Victims Unit for further investigation.

Investigators say Blas later admitted to secretly recording the victims and then deleting the video shortly after. He was arrested on charges of criminal and video voyeurism and destruction of evidence.

The victim’s father—who is of Korean descent—raised his concerns publicly, and his story was picked up by Korean Broadcast News, bringing international attention to the incident and prompting heightened awareness of tourist safety on Guam.

Blas was booked and confined at the Department of Corrections, and the case has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for review and disposition.
