Moylan outlines local aid for furloughed workers

As the federal government shutdown drags on, Guam Congressman James Moylan is calling for compassion, clarity, and coordination to help island families weather the impact. Moylan says his office is working daily to make sure no one faces hardship alone.
His team has reached out to agencies like the Guam Power Authority, Guam Waterworks Authority, and federal mortgage servicers to confirm local relief options—from deferred utility payments and mortgage forbearance to flexible rent plans and ongoing housing and cellular support.
Moylan also reminded federal employees that backpay is guaranteed once the shutdown ends, and that furloughs are temporary, not terminations. He urged anyone affected to contact his office or follow his social media for updates, adding, “You deserve clarity, compassion, and action—until your paycheck returns, and long after.”
