Team Ada–Calvo enters 2026 gubernatorial race

It’s official — Vice-Speaker Tony Ada and businessman EJ Calvo are joining forces to run for Guam’s top two offices. The Ada–Calvo team formally announced their candidacy for governor and lieutenant governor Wednesday evening at the Hyatt Regency Guam, surrounded by family, friends, and supporters.
The announcement marks the first official ticket to enter the 2026 gubernatorial race. Their campaign pledges to tackle Guam’s rising cost of living, rebuild the island’s economy, and restore public trust in government.
Vice Speaker Ada — a six-term senator, former Department of Youth Affairs director, and US Army veteran — says their campaign is about accountability and real solutions that deliver for the people.
Calvo, a businessman and head coach of Guam’s Men's National Basketball Team, said he’s honored to serve alongside Ada and is focused on restoring opportunities for the island's families.
