A temporary campus for the Simon Sanchez High Sharks at the Guma As Atdas property is making major progress. At a recent Guam Housing Corporation meeting, president Edith Pangelinan announcing that a memorandum of agreement is complete, following input and edits from both the GHC and the Guam Department of Education’s legal counsel.

The proposed usage continues to call for the use of ten acres of already developed GHC property, which includes two apartment buildings, a parking lot, and land next to FB Leon Guerrero Middle School.

The apartment buildings are expected to be renovated for use as classrooms, administrative offices, counseling and nursing spaces, and storage. An additional 20 classrooms will also be constructed.

GHC has requested a retracement survey to confirm the boundaries of the designated parcel, which has been approved by the Department of Land Management, followed by a cost estimate.

In the meantime, Pangelinan says GDOE is preparing an amendment to the MOA, confirming that the retracement survey will come at no cost to GHC, with any associated expenses to be borne by GDOE.
