The superior court has agreed to split the criminal cases of professional mixed martial arts fighter Ricky Camp and co-defendant Jazmin Rivera.

Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena III approved the motion to sever after defense attorneys argued that trying the two together would create a legal conflict—since Rivera is listed as both a co-defendant and an alleged victim in one of the charges against Camp.

Camp faces multiple assault and family violence charges, while Rivera is charged with assault and disorderly conduct. Prosecutors did not object to the motion.

Camp and Rivera were arrested in February following a fight outside a Tumon club that left several people injured.

A new trial schedule will be issued, as both defendants remain out on personal recognizance.
