Camp Blaz doubles its initial goal as a canned food drive comes to a close.

Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz commemorated the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary by taking part in an islandwide canned food drive supporting Guam's children.

The drive, introduced to the installation by Joint Region Marianas Community Relations Lead Shaina O’neal, benefits Be Heartfelt’s “Meal Pack Program.”

The program uses donated goods to provide supplemental meals for children over weekends and school breaks.

Camp Blaz personnel witnessed the importance of the program firsthand during a recent sister school outreach event.

Lance Corporal Paul Jr. Perez Said, “No kid should wonder where their next meal comes from.”

Commanding Officer Colonel Marshall highlighted the marines’ long history with Guam, adding that their service should always be “consistent and impactful.”

Camp Blaz surpassed its goal, collecting 547 canned goods, more than double the initial target of 250. Officials say the effort reflects the marine corps’ dedication to both national security and community wellbeing.
