Congressman: fight for radiation survivors continues

Guam Congressman James Moylan says the fight for justice under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act is far from over. In an op-ed, Moylan defended his efforts in congress to include Guam’s downwind radiation survivors, stressing the issue is deeply personal and not just policy.
Moylan pointed to his work since the 118th Congress, including introducing legislation with bipartisan support and pushing streamlined versions to address cost concerns. He acknowledged setbacks in both the House and Senate but emphasized continued collaboration with advocates and survivors.
He says he will not support any plan that lessens benefits for Guam residents, and pledged to keep advancing legislation until island survivors receive the same recognition and compensation as others impacted by nuclear testing.
