Guam joins Asia-Pacific leaders in strengthening regional resilience and cooperation

Guam was represented at the 87th Council Meeting and 53rd General Assembly of the Asian Pacific Parliamentarians’ Union in Taipei, Taiwan.
It’s a key forum bringing together lawmakers from across the region. The gathering focused on building resilience and parliamentary cooperation on pressing issues such as energy security, economic sustainability, and critical infrastructure.
As an associate member, Guam highlighted its unique role as a bridge between the United States and the Asia-Pacific, reaffirming commitments to renewable energy, digital transformation, and regional collaboration.
The assembly also advanced nine resolutions, including support for the Marshall Islands’ call for renewed U.S. accountability over the impacts of nuclear testing.
Guam’s participation underscores the island’s growing voice in addressing shared regional challenges through diplomacy, cooperation, and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
