The Spay & Neuter Island Pets Program is heading back into the community this August to provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for Guam’s dogs and cats.

This SNIP community event will take place at the honorable Mayor Vicente Taitague’s Jeromy Newby Community Center in Talo’fo’fo from Aug. 12 through Aug. 21  and will feature two high quality, high volume spay neuter surgeons, Dr. Mariana Turner from the Department of Agriculture and Dr. Brenda Smith from Guam Animals in Need.

Surgeries will be by appointment and cost only $50 per animal. Both dogs and cats are welcome, and pet owners are encouraged to bring their own carrier for housing of their pet.

Rabies vaccinations and Elizabethan collars (cones) will also be available at an additional cost.

Residents who receive SNAP benefits qualify for full coverage of the surgery cost through the SPPC surgery sponsorship program by presenting their SNAP/EBT card at registration.

“This initiative makes vital spay and neuter services more accessible while helping to reduce the stray animal population across our island,” said Territory Veterinarian Mariana Q Turner. “We are grateful to Mayor Taitague for hosting this event and to our community partners who make this possible. Together, we’re building a safer, healthier Guam for pets and people alike.”

Members of the public that are interested in signing their pets up for surgery may do so at www.snipclinicguam.com/yona. Appointments must be made under the owner’s information.
